Set up in memory of Simon Callis a close friend and supporter of Links-India. Simon’s Fund provides both IT equipment and training to community focused non-profit organisations.
Basic training
It is quite common for a non-profit to be donated computer equipment but not given any training whatsoever. The workers have no idea how to use the machine and have never heard of viruses, spyware and other forms of malware. Part of our role has been in filling that gap.
We have provided training at: -

* Munsel-Ling School (Spiti)
* Manjushri Vidyapith Orphanage (Tawang)
* Samaritan Help Mission (Kolkata)
Provision of Equipment and Software
In addition to providing training we regularly donate gigabytes of educational software to the schools we work with. In some cases this has been supported with specialist hardware to enable children with physical difficulties participate in the lessons.
